Answer:
Nurse Hiring Outlook and Industry trends.
Nursing is one of the best jobs in the country with a good hiring outlook. The labor Department predict 712,000 new jobs for nurses between 2010 and 2020.This is the period that majority of the ageing nurses would retire. However, Hospitals have failed to pull back on hiring during recession and this is due to old nurses deferring retirement (“Federal Issues,” 2016). The nursing shortage is however bound to be felt from 2013 when most the ageing nurses will retire. This might also be coupled with increase in health insurance. Health insurance is not only the sole factor that will increase demand for nurses rather other factors like economic recovery, baby boomers, affordable care act, employer changes, the market changes and finally care coordination.
Reducing gun violence
There have been increased cases of mass shootings in the country and there is need to come up with different strategies to limit this preventable causes of death. Gun violence also affects nurses due to the trauma that arise when they witness the victims of gun violence. In response to that, the then President Barrack Obama (Mozaffarian, Hemenway, & Ludwig, 2013). The president proposed keeping guns out of wrong hands by conducting background checks and further research of gun safety technology. The president also provided $500 million as investment towards providing care to the victims. All this was just meant to reduce the cycle of gun violence as well as death that affects the society.
