BNURS20 Bachelor Of Nursing
Question:
Answer:
Introduction:
The nursing quality standards are required to qualify and perform as an advanced registered nurse to promote health and improve patients’ quality of life. As an advanced registered nurse, I am competent to carry out comprehensive collection of data on patients’ health condition and analyse them to provide an accurate diagnostic measure pertinent to the patients’ conditions (Standard 1: Assessment and Standard 2: Diagnosis). My nursing abilities are efficient in performing evidence based assessment of patients’ clinical scenario and thereby develop a treatment plan focussing on the patients’ condition (Standard 4: Planning). According to my nursing abilities, I can provide training and education to influence health care team to incorporate a beneficial change in treatment practice in response to patients’ health status (Standard 5B: Health teaching and Standard 5C: Consultation). Proper evaluation of treatment in patients and providing quality care through coordinated approach are central to my abilities as a registered nurse (Standard 5A: Coordination and Standard 6: Evaluation).
Professional skills can be developed through nursing quality standards to improve health care using information technology. Knowledge and training on informatics enable registered nurses to maintain an electronic documentation of patients’ medical details which is Electronic Health Record (EHR) (Health Information and Management Systems Society [US], 2018). The registered nurses can efficiently provide validation strategies of data analysis through qualitative and quantitative approaches. This is achieved through development of professional and computerized skills on data analytics. Registered nurses take active part in Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) programs; patients’ clinical conditions are represented in the form of coded data which are translated into health reports by registered nurses (American health Information Management System, 2017).
