According to statistics in the United Kingdom, 15% of the employees are facing the problem of mental health. Comparing this to Australia 20% of the employees are facing the mental problem (McKeown, & White, 2015).  According to research reports in the United Kingdom, a group of people (300,000) lose their jobs because of mental health problems each year. Mental health cost 74 and 99 billion euros to the economy of the United Kingdom per year. This is different in Australia; mental health cost is approximately $ 12 billion per year (Wykes, Haro, Belli, Arango, et al., 2015).In Australia and New Zealand, the process of consultation shows inconsistency with nursing leadership structure implementation and development; also, there is also inconsistency in standards of practice careers in the clinic pathways and supervision of professions (McKeown, & White, 2015). Mental health research of nurses has made advances towards organization in tertiary education thus providing different programmes in Australia. Sponsoring and scope of practice for disciplines should be capability bound, not bound by professional training. The mental health system has been explained in many national reports and commissions as being fragmented, sophisticated and not consumer friendly (Wykes, Haro, Belli, Arango, et al., 2015).

 The significant implications in health organization are retention problems. The report explains a range of strong workforce; this includes the leadership of nurses, the nursing practitioners, knowledge and skill mix, research and recruitment, standards, pathways for careers, professional supervision and retention (Wykes, Haro, Belli, Arango, et al., 2015). The new system of providing mental health services within the community level away from the institutional care had generated implications of the considerate resource. The sector of mental health needs to develop a different strategy to share the skill mix pool across the health organization. This would encourage collaboration, nurse autonomy intensification, and successful teamwork (Wykes, Haro, Belli, Arango, et al., 2015).

Discussion

In Australia, the mental health nurse is still devalued which is a different case in the United Kingdom. The nurses are working in the mental health sector work across all the stepped care health setting. They experience noteworthy barriers operating outside the services of mental health that are state funded. The treatment of mental health problem that is highly medicalized within the tertiary care settings echoes the scope of parts of nursing with physical and medical care (Smith et al., 2014).

 Mental illness continues to increase globally thus it is essential to increase the number of nurses in Australia since their population is less compared to the number of nurses in the United Kingdom. Rural health practitioners need in UK and Australia the same? This is not the same because health services in rural areas are considered a challenge the United Kingdom is a developed country thus facing changes in demography. There is a significant challenge for medical practitioners in the UK, and it’s mostly influenced by the legislation (Acharya, Schwarz, Citrin, Tenpa, Hirachan, et al., 2017). The needs of rural practitioners are not easily met due to geographical and climatic conditions. Indigenous people face certain different challenges. The practitioners need specific training which was not recognized until recently (Bor, Dean, Najman , & Hayatbakhsh, 2014). The professionals at the rural area should be trained appropriately which is a strategy that is needed (rural clinical training).there will be is necessary for colleges in the UK and Australia to deliver a curricula for practitioners working in the rural areas (Moran, Coyle, Pope, Boxall, Nancarrow, et al., 2014). The curricula will echo the practitioner’s nature in the rural areas and settings that are remote. The skills gained can be exported to other countries that are developing, thus much can be learned and put into practice in local areas (Wepa, 2015).

In Scotland, the remote and rural communities have enjoyed good and better services that individuals living in urban. In contrast to the USA, and Australia, the functions of health have been virtually entirely by a system that is publicly funded and with the only small private sector. Communities in the rural and remote setting all over the world face similar challenges caused by a demographic change (Moran, Coyle, Pope, Boxall, Nancarrow, et al., 2014).  The health service contribution of these communities is to the economy is more significant than those living in urban settings.

 The most damaging element that hinders the progression of Mental Health Nurses in Australia and other parts is the generalist undergraduate education, which does little to prepare qualifying Registered Nurse to work as a Mental Health Nurse. (Gardiner & Sheen, 2017).  While it other nations, mental health nurses are considered leaders in their fields, Australia doesn’t value the profession in the same way (Wykes, Haro, Belli, Arango, et al., 2015). A sequence of questions based on the significant issues of workforce directed the process of consultation to generate sufficient information about the present form of mental health nurses in Australia and the United Kingdom not forgetting other areas such as New Zealand. Nurses in Australia are leaders who have the ability set that includes clinical governance, translational research, evidence-based practice, complex clinical care provision, and coordination (Wepa, 2015).

Nevertheless, they are arguably not seen as being leaders by the government, other areas, and the broader public. Which is why postgraduate education is essential to boost the presence and value of mental health nurses within the sector (Wepa, 2015).

A Credentialed Mental Health Nurse is recognized by the Australian College of Mental Health nursing as being the only expert qualification for the career, having successfully undertaken post-graduate training at least three years’ experiences and a record of ongoing career development (McKeown, & White, 2015). However, Australia is using advanced approaches to ensure that mental health services are provided. In New Zealand, the nurse’s practice is delegated by society’s laws, standards, and expectations. National Mental Health Sector Standard purpose is to bring steadiness in mental health conveyance treatment and sustenance provided to all service users of mental health service (Australian College of Mental Health Nurses [ACMHN], 2018).

Mental health in New Zealand compared to Australia in the past was inadequate and problematic. The new system of providing mental health services within the community level away from the institutional care had generated implications of considerate resources. This made the mental health in New Zealand to become one of the current health priority areas by the government (Gardiner & Sheen, 2017).  New Zealand registered mental health nurses make up to70% of the workforce in health and disability. This ensures cost-effective community mental health services. It is seen that senior nurses proportions are high in number than a number regarded appropriate for the needs of the local.

Increasing the junior staff proportion the skill mix cost effective will increase, and pressure will increase caseload, the pressure on the mental health nurses in the community will decrease. According to the local initiative in London, there is a need to adjust the skill mix of the mental health nurses in the community team (Tavares Barbosa, Cordeiro, Abrahao, Xaiver, 2017). This ensures cost-effective community mental health services. It is seen that senior nurses proportions are high in number than a number regarded appropriate for the needs of the local. Additionally, the mental health nurses should have a contract that is formal with a supervisor that is trained appropriately (World Health Organisation. 2018).
