PNUR124 Practical Nursing Theory 2
Question:
Answer:
Nursing theory is determined as one of the meaningful way to determine the nursing values, beliefs, thoughts, their relationship with human beings, and their perspective about general life and theories so that they can help people using them in the practical scenario. There are different theories which can be applied in different approaches so that nursing professionals can apply them in their practical method. In this assignment, the two theories that will be compared are Peplau’s theory of the interpersonal relation and Parse’s theory of human becoming and their application in nursing informatics will be discussed.
The theory of Peplau’s theory of the interpersonal relation completely focuses on the communication between client and the nursing professionals where the nursing professionals initiate conversation and clients provide their feedback through words and in this manner, they are dependent on each other (Sarason, 2013). This is because this conversation helps them to effectively apply the therapeutic effects and well being related facts in the care process (Deane & Fain, 2016). On the other hand, the human-becoming ontological theory is the practical scenario, where the nursing professional makes decision depending on the present situation and in the course, will feel every emotion that could help the patient to recover (Parse, 2013).
Therefore, while application in nursing informatics system, theory of Peplau’s theory of the interpersonal relation is more applicable as using this method, they will be able to make relationship with the patients and their family and then will be able to provide appropriate healthcare interventions and information to the patients (Parse, 2015).
