NUR 302 Nursing
Question:
Answer:
There are different fundamental patterns of knowing in nursing which includes, ethnic, emancipatory, empiric, personal and aesthetic. However, from the contents provided by Chinn and Kramer, I would select an emancipatory pattern of knowing which focuses on the whole context surrounding nursing. My selection was because the model addresses the political and social factors which influence nursing in one way or the other (Chinn, 2015). Emancipatory model also critics the other patterns, explaining their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to addressing the issues facing nursing. It is through this pattern that I learned the social barriers that face health and therefore means that the well-being of the society is at stake(Snyder, 2014). The most interesting feature about the pattern selected is that it not only allows for critical thinking and reflection but also real action. It is therefore important to ensure that the nursing sector is well addressed to ensure progress towards the positive direction.
