NUR 302 Nursing

Staff members in non-profit organizations work determinedly to attain their set goals and objectives and as such, these individuals are the most valuable assets in these particular institutions. In the course of the review, I have come to realize that a significant portion of any non-profit’s financial plan is spent on personnel expenditure.   In addition, it is vital for board members in these firms to be familiar with rudimentary Federal and State rules and regulations governing non-profits.  Some of these laws include regulations that regulate interactions with interested parties such as contractors, own board members, and volunteers (Williams, n.d).

Unlike other organizations established with an aim of making profits, employers in non-profits are expected to hold back particular taxes from the personnel payment checks and as well meet certain percentages on their behalf.  Besides, non-profits in Colorado are not expected to acquire unemployment compensation insurance unlike their counterparts formed with profit motives (Williams, n.d).

During my tenure in a non-profit making organization, I have realized that proper and exceptional healthcare is the goal number one of the center. Patients of all financial classes are admitted in this healthcare center and services rendered are equal to all and sundry (Colorado Association Nonprofit, n.d).  Those health firms formed with an intention of making profits tend to put financial returns as the first priority at the expense of their patient’s wellbeing.  In a non-profit like ours it is vice versa.  Client care is the first priority and everybody works towards ensuring this aspect is accomplished.
