Students enrolling in this mode of study need to attend campus for the initial 2 days of orientation. Students are then required to attend 2 weeks of residential learning towards the end of every study block which is then followed by a 2 week block of assessments. In accordance with the Careers Australia accreditation with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council, the minimum standards for entry into the Diploma of Nursing are:

Applicants must have successfully completed one of the following:

  • Year 12; or
  • An Australian Certificate III in Aged Care; or
  • Two years experience in a closely related field such as HACC or Disability; or
  • Mature aged entry (21 years of age)

All prospective students must attend an information session and complete a literacy and numeracy assessment. Finally applicants are required to declare their physical and mental fitness to safely perform the duties associated with direct care work.
