Question:
Write a report on personal and professional development plan.
Answer:
Introduction
I am a first year student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing at (insert university name). I have strived to become a great oncology nurse. Glajchen and Goehring (2017 p.2) explain that the underlying difference between a great nurse and a good nurse emanates from the inherent ability of the practitioner to foster proper evaluation of the care practices they advance. According to Y?lmaz, Üstün and Günü?en (2018 p.1), a great nurse needs to adhere to certain set standards of professional nursing customs by implementing all the stipulated institutional processes and tackling other concerns and issues of practice. To advance my career into a great oncology nurse, I have formulated a Personal and Professional Development Plan (PPDP). The plan reveals the goals and objectives that I wish to achieve in my area of practice and the pathways to embrace in order to attain the stipulated ambitions. I am confident that as I pursue my academic endeavors, I will be able to identify the factors of success as well as the issues that may act as hindrances to effective achievement of the aforementioned goal of becoming a great oncology nurse.

Conclusion
In conclusion, the Personal and Professional Development Plan developed reveals the goals and objectives that I wish to achieve in my area of practice and the pathways to embrace in order to attain the stipulated ambitions. Ethics plays a crucial role in fostering the professional advancement of an oncology nurse. In my line of duty, I will be faced with the obligation of ensuring that I treat all of my patients with higher levels of humanity. Philp, Barnett, D’Abrew and White (2017 p.203) explain that oncology nurses offer their services in multiple and delicate hospital settings such as acute care facilities, community agencies, ambulatory care facilities and radiation therapy clinics. As a consequence, I will be faced with the duty of involving my patents’ family members in the treatment procedures as an essential aspect of my day to day duties. According to Dorcy et al. (2016 p.1), privacy is an element of professional ethics plays a crucial role in fostering the advancement of services that depict optimal levels of morality. However, I find myself as a person who is less secretive and may breach the ethical requirements of privacy in nursing. I will boost my professional ethics by doing a library search of the professional and institutional policy practices advanced on the areas of ethical nursing. On the other hand, advancement of evidence based practice and research has been identified as a possible area of weakness. To achieve this goal, I will register as an intern in a healthcare organization that embraces a nursing research team that reveals exemplary attainments. Further, I will undertake periodic reviews of the institutional updates and period policy statements put in place by government agencies and institutions of higher education that reveal the latest and best practices in oncology nursing. Similarly, I will establish partnerships with different groups of nurses that put a lot of efforts on research and advancement of best practices in oncology.
