Question:
1. Write your hook and thesis statement on Social Media and Clinical Depression.
Answer:
Introduction
A few years ago a book under the title “Who will cry when you die” written by Canadian author Robin Sharma became a best seller because of its interesting observations about the fake relationships and the depressions caused by them. Now the same problem of the fake relationships is coming across in the life of the people under a new name. This name is social media fake friendship and clinical depression caused by them (Sharma).
The thesis for the essay
In the current essay, we are going to explore the truth behind the presence of social media friendships as a reason behind the state of the clinical depression. In this essay, we will explain clinical depression and mention about the human factor which holds the key element in the occurrences of such cases.
Clinical Depression, human factor and social media
We all feel sad & depressed with certain events, almost on all the occasions we take the support of the people around us. These people are known as human factors to console us. We often term them as friends, relatives, and well-wishers. Social media allows us to connect with our friends on a virtual medium and increases our activity levels in the domain of the socializing (Abdulahi).
Clinical depression is a state of mind where a subject goes for a depression because he lives in a fake world of social media friendships but misses a human factor, like talking to the real people or feeling the touch of the real people. Once a person falls for the clinical depression then he needs a certain set of medications to overcome it. These medications further make him a subject of different other diseases. Where the patient becomes addicted to medication and it becomes difficult for him to bounce back to the normal life (Abdulahi).
Conclusion
We should use social media as a tool to stay connected with our near and dear one. While living a life we should not forget that absence of the human factor in our life can lead us to different problematic conditions like “Clinical depression.” We should try to add virtual mediums into our real life instead of searching for real life in a virtual social medium (Sharma).
