Mental health is essential part that practitioner should take in to account when treating any patient. Mental health defined as the person’s emotional health and psychological well being. Unstable mental health has huge effect on occurrence of other health disease. Therefore, this essay will discuss how mental health implicated in medical setting in following paragraphs.
1. Behavioral health providers are health care professionals’ part of primary care team who diagnosis the mental status of the patient and provide care for increasing their ability to function properly. Diverse prevention method adopted by different behavioral health provider to prevent the mental illness. Diverse strategies adopted by different behavioral health care provider. These are motivational interview, cognitive behavioral therapy, group therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution focus therapy (Baird et al., 2014). These strategies not only help to stable mental state but also enhance life style.
2. Leadership and managing skills to manage mentally ill patient is essential trait that every successful mental health practitioner possess. In order to manage the patient on daily basis, every practitioner should possess excellent verbal and written communication to address the issues of patient properly. During the communication process, practitioner should have empathy to connect to the experience patient is facing (Fernandez et al., 2016). Patience is important skill that every practitioner should possess in order to evaluate the mental status of patient. Critical thinking every practitioner should have to evaluate sensitive mental issues.
3. The central for mental health services of USA giving immense effort to strengthen the national health system by providing the mental wellness facilities and improve the quality of treatment. Integrated health care system has taken account the health care facilities to provide more coordinated treatment. The prime reason behind this initiative is mental state of patient also affect lifestyle of the patient. Substance abuse and mental health services administration strategies few strategies such as it encourages different range of system programmed that response to the emotional behavior of population in America (Scharf et al., 2016). Moreover, it also reassures to establish scientific based finding and practice based knowledge for preventing disease.
4. Integrating behavioral health in primary care of patient is beneficial to the patients who experience the trauma due to mental instability and also beneficial to health care system. Significance of health care integration is that patient experience better health care facilities, it decreases the cost of delivery of the treatment (Aldridge et al., 2016). Recent research finding suggested that integrated health maintenance organization provide the health care centers a financial data bases, accurate observation of patient and organized treatment. Therefore, patients obtain satisfaction from organization.
Thus, it can be concluded that integrated health care system is crucial part of health setting that improve the treatment procedure and delivery method of treatment so that patients receive superior care and smooth delivery method. Behavioral health provider act as mediator in health care setting to provide better treatment to patient for overcoming problem.
