NURS 7325 001 Philosophy Of Science
Question:
Answer:
Personal nursing philosophy relates to many concepts and in my case, it is highly associated with the time management process. Since I have been involved with this online class I have learnt that nurses should be aware of all the values and beliefs that influence the action (Scott, Matthews & Kirwan, 2014). At the very beginning I was struggling with the lack of time and I could hardly find some time to finish my coursework which turn out to be frustrating for me. Then I started minimizing all the distractions during my study time and organized the commitments at work and at home which helped me in maximizing my working efficiency. At this point, I noticed the change in my personal nursing philosophy. As a result of this course, I included my knowledge of time management skill in my nursing practice and as a nurse I should be dedicated to provide an effective patient-centred care and in this regard I will break large tasks into smaller ones to control the time bandits and establish realistic deadlines. I will prioritize each work by creating a to-do list, which will help me in achieving my goals as a nurse.
From the various “ahas” in this course, the Novice to Expert theory, a construct theory, which was first proposed by Hubert and Stuart Dreyfus as the Dreyfus Model of Skill Acquisition (Lyon, 2015) was mostly related to me. I know that I have learnt a lot from this course and the knowledge will help me to be an expert nurse in future. Hopefully, I will provide an effective care to all the patients in my clinical settings area.
